授权文件 January 29, 2008 Yinsheng Li Dear President Li, The University of Massachusetts Boston (UMass Boston) Enrollment Management Division is interested in working with you to expand our enrollment from China. We are willing to consider students recruited by your center in China for admission to undergraduate programs at UMass Boston. In working with you and your center, we will review the students you refer for admission when they present application materials and high school transcripts that demonstrate their ability to be successful in an undergraduate degree program. Specifically, we will be interested in students who have graduated from high school in China earning an average grade of “B” or better or the equivalent and who have achieved a 550 or better TOEFL score or a score of 6 or better on the IELTS or the equivalent. We would also like to receive a letter of recommendation from teaching staff for each candidate and the required essay from the applicant. Students who do not meet the language proficiency requirements, but who do meet the academic requirements, may be considered for provisional admission with initial enrollment in UMass Boston’s ESL/University Preparation Program. UMass Boston will provide support and assistance to the students as they prepare and submit their application materials and credentials, review application files in a timely manner, advise students on the financial documentation required for the I-20 and support them through the F-1 student visa application process. Students will be categorized as international at UMass Boston and will be charged the non-resident rates of tuition and fees. UMass Boston will also assist students who enroll with finding housing, orienting them to the US and study at the university, health insurance requirements, banking and managing expenses and complying with US immigration requirements. Students who successfully complete the necessary credits in courses undertaken at UMass Boston will be awarded a Bachelor’s Degree bearing the name of the University of Massachusetts Boston. Please let me know if you need further information. We look forward to working with you. Sincerely, Kathleen Teehan |
